Literature: Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince - JK Rowling does it again!

Harry's back in an all new adventure, along with Ron, Hermione and all the rest...

We pick up with the boy wizard just after the now infamous battle in the 'Ministry of Magic'. Harry is a year older, wiser, and more mature. Matters are now more dire as 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' is gathering strength and followers alike, and causing mayhem in the process. This installment certainly doesn't disappoint as more is revealed and the plot thickens. The climax - you have been warned - is a shocker! It's sets up a mouthwatering prospect for the culmination of the series.

Not since Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl has someone come along who writes books one can read to one's children, and enjoy reading oneself simultaneously - I personally finished my copy over two days and thoroughly enjoyed it. What certainly continues to impress me is how with each installment, Ms. Rowling's writing style adapts to the characters in the story... and seems to purposefully be intended to appeal primarily to readers of comparable age! I can say with reasonable certainty that I am not alone in the hope that Harry Potter 7 is not the last offering from someone who is in my humble opinion the finest children's author in 20 years.

2 Huge thumbs up!
